I receive a "Connection Timed Out" error when trying to connect to my bounce server
A common cause of connection time-outs, refused connections and other problems relating to remote server connections is server firewalls. A firewall governs what kinds of connections can be established or accepted to a server and from where.

It is common for some web hosts to block (a selection or all kinds of) outgoing connections to remote servers. If you are having trouble connecting to a remote server, please check with your host to check whether your server is firewalled. If they only block some types of outgoing connections you may need to tell them what kind of connection you are trying to make. For IMAP connections it defaults to using port 143. For POP3 connections the default port is 110.
